Our Areas of Focus
We provide in-depth knowledge from a wide range of practice areas to meet the challenges facing our clients.
Our history
We trace our roots back to 1828, when William Tatham started his practice in London's Dorset Square. Four decades later, in the 1860s, William Harwood started out in Asia, returning to London in 1875 with an important connection: the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (later HSBC). By then, William Harwood had joined forces with Henry Stephenson and formed Harwood & Stephenson. That would become Stephenson Harwood & Tatham in 1920 when the two firms merged, a name which would remain until 1973, when it was shortened to Stephenson Harwood. The intervening century has seen merges and expansions that have grown our capabilities and expanded our international reach.
